Search Engine MarketingSearch Engine Marketing

In other words marketing your products or services through the search engines.

Search engines are a powerful tool to make your products or services known and attract potential customers/clients.

Bascially there are two ways of approach when it comes to Search Engine Marketing.

  1. A listing in the search results for keywords or keyphrases
This is often called an "organic" result. You don't have to pay for this and it all depends on how good your web site, your content and your web site's popularity is. To get good rankings with the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask is a long term project as this will not happen over night.
  2. A listing in the sponsored ads section of the search results
This means advertising your web site, your products or services on the search engines search results for a particular keyword or keyphrase. Advertising get auctioned, which means the highest bidder gets to the top spot of advertising space. This approach is very fast, compared to the organic results and is just a matter of money. How much can or do you want to spend for a click on your advertising and how much money are you willing to spend per day or month. With the right strategy and a functioning web site you should be able to generate interest immediately.
